On June 4, 2022 the Art Park had a small opening event that included an artist talk by Dallas-based artist Brenda McKinney, activities for kids, and a cookout with burgers and hot dogs (including veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs). Visitors were able to explore the park grounds, enjoy the art, and watch the sun go down on the western edge of the park.
